- Description:
Clymadon is the extract received from Cimicifuga dahurica rootstock. It has the estrogen effects. The plant interacts with estrogen receptors and stimulates them. At the same time the drug depresses luteinizing hormone secretion of the front lobe of hypophysis. The exact mechanism of action is not found out but it is supposed that it consists in the discharge inhibition of LHRH (luteinising hormone releasing hormone). Blood-vascular and disturbances and emotional insanities disappear or go down caused by hormonal derangements during menopause.
- Contraindications and cautions:
Hypersensibility to the drug.
- Indication:
Menopause (bout of hot, sweating, headaches, irritability, mood instability, insomnia, palpitation).
- Method of application:
For tablets – 1 tablet two times daily. Tablets are swallowed.
For drops – 30 drops two times daily (in the morning and in the evening). Recommended to dilute drops with water or pour drops on sugar. Improvement comes after 2 weeks of treatment. The drug may be taken for a long period of time provided doctor’s consultation every 6 months.
- Side effects:
Dyspepsia, abdominal pains.
