Description: combined contraceptive, each pill contains two distinct woman’s hormone as: drospirinone and etinilestradiol.
Jasmin is an oral contraceptive, it contain a small concentration of hormones.
Because all the pills in blister contain the same hormones in the same number we can consider it monophase.
Indications: to prevent pregnancy.
Yasmin depresses synthesis, gonadotropic function and ovulation. Drug increases the viscosity of cervical mucus and the egg’s attachment. Drospirenonum, in contrast to other drugs, has antimineralcorticoid and antiandrogenic action.
- Contraindications and cautions:
Pregnancy, lactation, varix dilatation, trombophlebitis, haematological disorders, hepatitis.
- Indication:
Peroral contraception when it is desirable antiandrogenic effect, acnes and seborrhea.
- Interaction:
Inductors of hepatic enzymes (barbiturates, antiepileptic, ampicillin, tetracycline, rifampicin, griseofulvin, phenylbutazol), mineralocorticoids and drugs of androgenic activity decrease the efficiency.
- Method of application:
1 tablet daily, 21 days on end.
- Overdose:
Nausea, vomiting, vaginal hemorrhage. In this case – symptomatic treatment
- Side effects:
Vaginal discharge containing blood, amenorrheai, increasing of cervical secretion, candidiasis, cervical erosion, growth and lowering of body weight, pains in mammary glands, nipple discharge, changes in tolerance to glucose, nausea, vomiting, cholestatic jaundice, adenoma of the liver (rarely), migraine, headache, depression, rash, falling out of hair, changes of sexual desire, arterial hypertension (rarely).
- Special precautions:
Recommended to exclude hormone-dependent tumors before treatment.
