- Description:
Drug combined with analgesic, antipyretic, decongestant and expectorant action. Paracetamol inhibits cyclooxygenaze and reduces prostaglandins synthesis, pain and temperature. Ascorbic acid compensates vitamin C loss that is characteristic for the incipient phases of acute respiratory infections. Phenylefrin contracts sanguine vessels and reduces congestion.
- Contraindications and cautions:
Hyper sensibility to any of the drug components, severe renal and hepatic affections, arterial hypertension, hyperthyrosis, diabetes and heart diseases.
- Indication:
Diseases provoked by cold, influenza.
- Interaction:
Metoclopramide and Domperidone increase the effect of the drug.
- Method of application:
Adults and children over the age of 12 years, the contents of one package dissolving in a glass of hot water; dose can be repeated after 6-8 hours (but not more than four times a day).
- Overdose:
In case of overdose the patients can have an attempt at emesis, nausea, anorexia and stomach upset. The treatment: gastric lavage and symptomatic therapy.
- Special precautions:
Caution should be exercised when Coldrex Hotrem is administered in pregnancy and lactation period.
- Side effects:
Allergic reactions (cutaneous eruption, angioneurotic edema, nettle rash). Arterial hypertension can appear rarely (cephalalgia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, insomnia, palpitations).
